The goal of this project is to develop an AI-driven health assessment tool designed to help pet owners and veterinarians identify potential illnesses in animals through image based diagnostics. By combining the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) animal diagnostic practice of tongue analysis with modern machine learning techniques, the system will enable users to upload an image and receive an automated assessment of their animal’s health. The final product will consist of a trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) integrated into a web application that provides real time health feedback and recommendations for further action. While the application is not a substitute for professional veterinary care, its benefits include lowering veterinary costs and improving access to potential early diagnosis for pet owners with limited access to professional care. Currently, the focus is functionality of the application and model with human tongues. Once more data is acquired, the focus will be shifted to animals.
