consortium for computing sciences in colleges :  central plains

As a proud member of the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges, CCSC:Central Plains holds a yearly regional meeting enabling faculty from throughout the Central Plains area to gather to learn, network, and get energized about teaching and new developments in the Computing disciplines.

If you live in the Central Plains — primarily Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, but we welcome people from everywhere — then please consider joining us at our 20th annual conference, on April 4-5, 2014, at Westminster College in Fulton, MO. As always, we will have a great lineup of papers, panels, tutorials, workshops and a programming contest that your students will not want to miss.

What's New?

It's barely a week before the conference and as the final version of our conference schedule clearly demonstrates, we're going to have a great meeting.  A map is available on our Travel>Directions page so you should have no trouble finding it.  Be sure and arrive early ... we're expecting large-ish crowds.

Great news!  A tentative program for this year's conference is now on the Schedule page, and it is chock-full of cutting-edge papers, workshops, and tutorials.   And once you've read that, surely your next click will be to the Registration page -- the program is that good!

If you have students engaged in research, or working on some interesting projects, why not tell the rest of the world about it?  Check out our Poster Session contest for details and deadlines.

Attention authors:   if you have registered, and were planning to pay by check, please note that checks are due by the 24th of January.

We have a great conference planned, and it will be greater if you are there!  So please visit our Registration page for full details on how to register, and the benefits of doing so.

The conference committee just ended a marathon planning meeting.  Details will be announced  shortly, but rest assured that  if you are interested in anything to do with computing sciences, the best place to be on April 4-5 will be at Westminster College, in Fulton, MO!

For you procrastinators out there, here is something else to be thankful for during this time of Thanksgiving.  We have extended our deadline for paper/panel/tutorial/workshop submissions to Sunday, December 7th!

Our Authors page has been updated with a link to our submission guidelines page.  The deadline is still a few weeks away, so this might be a good time to get cracking!

We are now ready to accept your submissions for our 2014 conference.  Please visit our Authors page for full details on how to submit.

Planning has started on our 2014 conference, under the watchful eye of our new conference chair, Ed Mirielli.  Stay tuned for further developments!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

CCSC:CP receives substantial moral and financial support from our National Vendors — NSF and turingscraft — as well as ACM, and SIGCSE; the conference committee also wishes to personally thank Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society for their continued student support.
