We are part of a national organization, The Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges (CCSC), a non-profit organization focused on promoting quality computer-oriented curricula as well as effective use of computing in smaller institutions of higher learning which are typically non-research in orientation.
Our region's annual get together is the Northwestern Regional Conference, normally held Friday and Saturday in the first few weeks of October. We get together to share ideas and expertise about innovative uses of curricula in both Computer Science and Computer Information Systems, as well as the use of computers in the Liberal Arts and Sciences and General Education. Proceeding of the conference's double-blind peer reviewed papers are published in The Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges.
Because personnel at small colleges often have restricted travel budgets, the scheduling of our conference is done with the goal of minimizing costs. Conference participates include faculty and administrators of academic computer facilities. Students are encouraged to participate as well. Vendors are invited to conferences to meet with faculty and display their products.
