We are pleased to announce that the 2025 Susan Dean CCSC Distinguished Service Award recipient is Dr. Scott Sigman, awarded at the CCSC Annual Business Meeting on February 28, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the success of CCSC both at the national level and at the regional level. Professor Sigman’s dedication to the organization is a testament to his deserving of this prestigious award.
Scott Sigman
Dr. Scott Sigman has a long and significant service record to CCSC at the regional and national levels. He has been an integral part of the work in the Central Plains region since it was formed about 1995. Dr. Sigman represented the Central Plains region on the Board for many years. He has been a respected leader for the Central Plains region, serving numerous conference roles. CCSC Central Plains conference committee members over a period of many years appreciate his long history of insightful leadership.
Dr. Sigman also served as the Board Vice President 2012-2014 and President 2014-2016 and 2022-2024 and chaired the subcommittee appointed to propose bylaws to the national board for organizational structure for CCSC during 1996-1997. Over his years as an active Board member at the national level, Vice President and President of CCSC, he continually demonstrated his strong commitment to CCSC, and helped to shape the organization.
Dr. Sigman continues to be an advocate for Computing Education and CCSC. Recently, he has been working on a subcommittee of CCSC Board members to resurrect the CCSC Mid-South region and volunteered for a co-host position for the upcoming Mid-South conference.
