The 18th CCSC Southwest Region Conference

March 28-29, 2025

What is exactly is a Lightning Talk? Lightning Talks are short, 2 to 3 minute presentations intended to spark discussion among conference participants.

Potential benefits of giving a Lightning Talk include:

  • sharing a teaching strategy,
  • presenting preliminary results from a project,
  • getting feedback on a new idea for an empirical CS ed project,
  • getting a critique of a research design or data-gathering strategy,
  • showcasing a tool or technique that hasn't been fully tested,
  • finding collaborators at other institutions, and
  • inspiring good conversations about CS education

If you have any questions regarding lightning talk submission and reviewing, or wish to submit a lightning talk, please contact our Lightning Talks chair: Shirin Haji Amin Shirazi at shaji007@ucr.edu.
